This grandsire may be a possible Hessian soldier as he is first registered for taxes in Lycoming Twp Northumberland Co in 1787 and then Mifflin Twp Lycoming Co in 1778 and then in the 1790 census with wife Mariah and three sons.
I am seeking the families of both William Sr and Jr.
William Swarts Sr (1753-1925)is Married to Mariah ? (1755) and had deeded land in Mifflin Twp north of Jersey Shore in Lycoming Co from 1787 -1836 . Their children are Samuel, John, Jacob, William b. 1793, Mary (m Michael Spurr) ,Rosanna (Ester) (m. George Quigle), Elizabeth (m. Gabriel Morrison), Jane ( m. William Willets), and Sarah (m. Ralph Price).
William Swarts Jr. married Priscilla Price in Mifflin Township Lycoming County . Their children are George Updegrove Swarts, Abraham Weldon Swarts, Daniel Lemmon Swarts of Armstrong Co m Priscilla Price, Mary Jane Swarts and Sarah Ann Swarts.
I am looking for the above children and spouses. George and Abraham Swarts were born in Mifflin Township north of Jersey Shore Lycoming Co. Pa in 1819 and 1826. Then William and Priscilla moved to Kittanning Armstrong co, and Daniel Mary and Sarah were born there. Does anyone have information on the marriages of these people.
Daniel Lemmon Swarts married Martha Emily Fox of Clarion Co and they resided in Venango (oil fields) and Brookville area after hi service in the the Civil War. He was wounded and stopped on his way home from battle at the home of Fox Clarion co and was cared for there. He married the daughter of that Fox family, Martha. I also have the remaining descendants of this family. I wish to find the famlies of William Sr. and Jr. and seem to find a few in Lock Haven Williamsport area as daughters married there but can't locate the sons or William Sr or any of William Jr's children but for Daniel Lemmon Swarts.
I have the land deeds signed in Jersey Shore by William Swarts to Abraham Sawske. Also one with Michael Shur who may have been farming it from Swarts prior to sale. There is 100 acres in this deed signed in 1813. So there may be families who live on these properties today who may know these people. The later property was bordered by Thomas Martin to the south, Isaac Rodin to the west, Sawske to the east. Shur received the north piece it seems.
I also have estate information relating to Elizabeth Swarts Morrison between Morrison and her brother Jacob Swarts. Looking for these families and their sibblings. Also the whereabouts of the Betts family some of whom may have resided in Howard in the 1960's (Austin and Nancy).
